“Mindful eating is very pleasant. We sit beautifully. We are aware of the people surrounding us. We are aware of the food on our plates. This is a deep practice.”
-Thich Nhat Hahn (1926-), Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, teacher, author, poet and peace activist
“When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.”
Here’s a wonderful (but long, so I’m not going to type it out) quote I found in a new book I’m reading: How to Eat by Thich Nhat Hanh. It’s a great book, with little Buddhist tips and thoughts on eating, such as this, each only a page or so long.
“A party without cake is just a meeting.”
