Here’s a wonderful (but long, so I’m not going to type it out) quote I found in a new book I’m reading: How to Eat by Thich Nhat Hanh. It’s a great book, with little Buddhist tips and thoughts on eating, such as this, each only a page or so long.
“A party without cake is just a meeting.”
-Julia Child (1912-2004), TV chef and author
“Now Christmas comes, ’tis fit that we
should feast and sing, and merry be:
Keep open house, let fiddlers play.
A fig for cold, sing care away;
And may they who thereat repine,
On brown bread and on small beer dine.”
-1766 ‘Virginia Almanack’
“Anything is good if it’s made of chocolate.”
-Jo Brand (1957-), British comedian, writer and actress
“Wine is bottled poetry.”
-Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer
