My Italian coworker recommended Bianca, a cozy Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village. With her endorsement, I knew I had to go. Not only does Bianca serve delicious, homemade food, they also let you get away with paying reasonable prices. In New York, that’s huge. If you’re in the area you must check it out, but there is usually a wait so be ready.
Kiyo and I began with a glass of red wine each and complimentary bread and olive oil. The olive oil was so good we couldn’t stop eating it.
We split two dishes. The first was pollo al balsamico, or chicken poached in balsamic vinegar. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The salad on the side was a nice touch and the plate was light yet filling.
We also shared a plate of the gramigna con salciccia e peperoni, or pasta with crumbled sausage and red pepper. Mixed with some tomato sauce and topped with fresh herbs, it was divine.
