Mikayla lives near Northern Spy Food Co., so we end up there for brunch when we want to meet up on the weekends. It’s a small, simple place that is easy to love time and again because it offers healthy (-ish) American food with fresh ingredients. They make many of their offerings from scratch, such as the to die for biscuits and their interesting seltzer (pictured is the watermelon / basil).
The last time we went, I had the corned beef hash – beef brisket, confit potato, and poached eggs. The meat and rich potatoes were delicious, and my only complaint is that I felt like it could have been tied together with a light sauce.
Mikayla had the B.E.L.T. – aioli, baked egg, mesclun salad, tomato and bacon on toasted rye bread, with home fries. This is a winner in the breakfast sandwich category.
