Now that all the graduation madness (my sister graduated high school the week after my Skidmore graduation) is finally over, I am back in New York (in Brooklyn for now) and back online! In honor of being back in the Big Apple, today I decided to write about a dessert Mikayla and I shared last summer a few blocks away from our apartment in the East Village.
Chikalicious is a very small “dessert club” that makes baked goods from scratch (well, probably not the pretzels they sometimes bake into their cookies). Mik and I shared (because we’re very stingy) an ice cream sandwich: a light, refreshing scoop of vanilla ice cream wedged between two soft, still-warm-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. It was almost like eating cookie dough ice cream only better, since the cold ice cream perfectly balanced the warm cookie dough and melting chocolate.
