Over winter break my parents gave me gift card for Honolulu Burger Co., so after I picked Kiyo up from the airport we decided to try it out. We discovered that it was in a sort of strange location (on a road that is usually full of traffic, not necessarily ideal for stopping) and that their burgers are made of range-fed beef from the Big Island. I ordered the “Teri-Kim Burger,” which is a burger with teriyaki sauce, topped with kimchi and a tomato, on a whole-wheat bun. I’ve never had kimchi on a burger before, but after winter break this year I’ve discovered that kimchi tastes good added to most meals, and this was no exception!
